Yakiniku Like is a Tokyo yakiniku restaurant that offers a single grill so you can enjoy yakiniku comfortably by yourself. The taste and price of the food are very satisfactory, making it a cost-effective restaurant recommended not only to solo travelers but also to everyone.
Yakiniku Like Shimbashi Location
I went to the Yakiniku Like Shimbashi branch, which I chose because it was close to my accommodation.
Yakiniku Like has several branches in Tokyo, and is a chain restaurant with branches all over Japan, including Osaka, Fukuoka and Sapporo.
Waiting
On weekdays when I visited Yakiniku Like, around 7pm, I was able to get in without a wait, but around 8pm, there was a wait in front of me.
At Yakiniku Like, each person has a tablet placed in their seat. All orders can be placed on a tablet. The tablet basically supports English, but there are quite a few cases where it comes out in Japanese because there is no translation. Because of this, I had to check the menu while translating with a translation app.
I was torn between set menu 1 and 2, but since I have a big appetite, I opted for the “Yakiniku All Star Set” menu which comes with unlimited rice, kimchi, and soup. Personally, I think it was a good choice. Haha If you look next to the menu, there is a menu requesting a refill. It was a function that could be requested with the corresponding button even when requesting additional refills. Because of this, I was able to comfortably request a refill without paying attention. lol
And there were unlimited highballs, lemon juice and menus that could be ordered between 2:00 and 6:00. I was late and couldn’t order, but if you like highballs or lemon juice, it would be nice to visit early and order.
Yakiniku Like All Star Set
The set I ordered consisted of several parts such as beef tongue, beef tripe, and ribs. You can eat it little by little through the individual grill in front of you.
And there were various sauces prepared in front of me, so there were various choices. The seasoning of the meat provided was strong, so I didn’t touch the sauce more than I thought. If you order a yakiniku menu that is not seasoned separately, it would be nice to enjoy various sauce flavors.
When ordering rice, it was possible to order small and large sizes. When I ordered rice through the tablet, the staff came and asked what size rice I wanted.
The meat was all seasoned, so it went really well with the rice. And kimchi is an indispensable combination for Koreans. It’s Japanese, but it’s simple and clean, so it’s perfect to eat with meat. So, I refilled the kimchi twice more. It was good to eat with warm soup.
The chewy texture of the beef tongue and the beef were savory and greasy, and the tripe was of good quality, so I enjoyed it.
Overall Impression
I would definitely recommend Yakiniku Like to anyone looking for a good value yakiniku restaurant in Tokyo. The food is delicious, the prices are reasonable, and the service is friendly. If you’re traveling solo, I would especially recommend the Yakiniku All Star Set. It’s a great way to try a variety of different yakiniku dishes without breaking the bank.
