On the second day of my Bangkok trip, I chose to stay at The Quart Ruamrudee by UHG hotel. The main reason for my choice was Firefly, a live jazz bar in Sindhorn Kempimski hotel.
I wanted to be close to the bar, but also wanted an affordable price, so after some searching, I settled on The Quart Ruamrudee by UHG Hotel.
Unfortunately, the day I visited happened to be Thailand’s April Fool’s Day, which is a non-alcoholic day. Therefore, I was unable to go to Firefly Jazz Bar the following day. Despite this setback, I was pleased with the hotel. Its location near the BTS station Ploenchit Station was convenient, and as a new hotel, the room facilities were clean and satisfactory.
Location
The Quat Ruamrudee Hotel is located a 10-minute walk away from Phloen Chit Station on the BTS line. However, it is situated deep in an alley, making it difficult to drag a carrier.
There are several restaurants within a 10-minute walk of the hotel, including Polo Fried Chicken, and it is also close to Lumpini Park.
On the way to the hotel from Phloen Chit Station, there is a 7-Eleven convenience store, which is convenient for buying water or late-night snacks.
Check-in
- Check-in time – 14:00
- Check-out time – 12:00
I checked out at the “Movenpick Hotel Sukhumvit 15 Bangkok” where I had stayed the day before, and immediately left to store my luggage. Since it was around 12:00 when I arrived, I assumed I would have to leave my luggage and come back later. Fortunately, I was able to check in early and unpack in my room, allowing me to start my trip right away.
For your reference, there is a shuttle that runs hourly from the hotel to Ploenchit Station. This would be a good option when you have a lot of luggage.
Guest room
The guest room in this new hotel is very clean and satisfying. Unlike structures where the toilet is usually placed at the entrance, the room felt spacious, even though the bed space is not very wide.
The room was well-equipped with everything you needed, such as a desk, a space to put your luggage, a refrigerator, and a closet. The bathroom was also nice with a large shower area. They provided lemongrass-scented shampoo and body wash, which had a pleasant Southeast Asian scent.
The room view is of the building next door, but it’s okay because the hotel is located on the street.
Fitness center / Swimming pool
Here are the operating hours for the fitness center and swimming pool:
The fitness center, while not spacious, is well-equipped with necessary equipment.
The swimming pool is one step up from the fitness center. Though it isn’t big, it’s cleaner and prettier than I expected. Additionally, the main side is open, providing a pleasant view.
Breakfast
I had to go out early this morning, so I decided to have breakfast early. When I arrived, no one was using the area, so I was able to take pictures and leisurely enjoy my breakfast.
The breakfast had a greater variety of food than I had anticipated, so I was able to have a hearty meal. Even the French toast that came out a little late was delicious.
I introduced the new Hotel The Quart Ruamrudee by UHG, which is located near Ploenchit Station in Bangkok. The room was clean, and the hotel felt new, so I was satisfied. If you’re planning a trip to Bangkok, we recommend considering this accommodation.
