During my last day in Sapporo, I stayed at KOKO HOTEL Sapporo Ekimae, a hotel conveniently located near Sapporo Station. As the name suggests, its proximity to the station made it easy to explore nearby areas and return to the airport via train.
1. Location
KOKO HOTEL Sapporo Ekimae is just a 10-minute walk from Sapporo Station, in the direction of Susukino. Its prime location makes it a great choice for travelers looking to access local transportation easily.
2. Check-In Counter
- Check-in Time: 15:00~
- Check-out Time: ~11:00
Upon entering the hotel, you’ll find the check-in counter on the left, not up the stairs but further inside the building. The lobby is simple yet functional, typical of a budget hotel. As all other hotel facilities are on the first floor, the upper floors are reserved for guest rooms only.
Near the elevators, there are complimentary amenities like toiletries, which guests can take to their rooms as needed.
3. Guest Rooms
The guest rooms at KOKO HOTEL Sapporo Ekimae start from the 4th floor. I booked a semi-double room, which was cozy, like most budget hotels in Japan. The room had enough space beside the bed for luggage, and the modern wooden-tone decor gave it a pleasant feel.
The bathroom, though compact, included a bathtub, which was convenient. The room was also equipped with a small desk, electric kettle, and refrigerator, all of which I made good use of. The view from the room wasn’t particularly impressive, just the building next door, so I kept the curtains closed most of the time.
4. Hotel Facilities
The first floor of the hotel hosts all the facilities. Next to the amenities station is a laundry room, perfect for travelers needing to do a quick wash. There is also an ice machine, vending machines, and a microwave available for guests to use. Although minimal, these facilities are practical and well-maintained.
5. No Breakfast Provided
KOKO HOTEL Sapporo Ekimae does not offer an in-house restaurant, so breakfast is not available. I chose to eat at New Chitose Airport after checking out and heading to the airport.
6. Booking and Pricing
If you book during weekdays, the price can be as low as 60,000 KRW per night. On weekends, it may rise to around 100,000 KRW. Since prices can vary depending on the season and availability, check the link below for current rates.
One important note: this hotel offers smoking rooms. Be sure to double-check your booking if you’re a non-smoker to avoid any inconvenience.
