This post shares my experience flying Korean Air business class from Zurich to Incheon, marking the end of our Switzerland trip. I’ll cover the airport lounge experience, meal service, and overall Prestige Sleeper cabin review for travelers considering this route.

Korean Air Check-in Process

After returning our rental car in Switzerland, we headed directly to the airport for check-in. Arriving early, we had to wait briefly before check-in counters opened for our departure time. Flying business class provided access to dedicated check-in lines, allowing us to complete the process faster than economy passengers.

The business class check-in area at Zurich Airport was well-organized with shorter queues compared to the main economy section.

Security Screening with Business Class Priority

Swiss airports offer priority security screening for business class passengers. As shown in airport signage, economy passengers use the main security lines on the right, while business class passengers access expedited lanes on the left, significantly reducing wait times.

This priority access proved valuable during our departure, saving considerable time during the security process.

Immigration and Airport Layout

After security screening, you’ll find lounges and duty-free shops in the main terminal area. Since we weren’t interested in extensive duty-free shopping, we proceeded directly to the business lounge.

Zurich Airport handles many EU flights that don’t require immigration procedures. For flights to Korea, you’ll need to complete immigration formalities and take airport transport to reach Gate E terminals where long-haul international flights depart.

The duty-free selection in the international departure area appeared limited compared to the main terminal, so complete any shopping before immigration if desired.

Zurich Airport Business Lounge Experience

Korean Air provided lounge location information during check-in. Aircraft boarding takes place on the second floor, while the business lounge is located on the third floor of the terminal.

Zurich Airport Business Lounge Experience

The business lounge at Zurich isn’t Korean Air-exclusive but serves multiple airlines’ business class passengers and Priority Pass cardholders. Food options included warm dishes, fresh fruit, and bread selections, though variety was somewhat limited.

The highlight was an extensive alcohol menu featuring various spirits and liqueurs. We tried Aperol for the first time here and found it pleasantly sweet and enjoyable.

Korean Air Prestige Sleeper Cabin

Upon boarding the Korean Air Boeing 777-300ER with Prestige Sleeper configuration, flight attendants immediately took meal orders. For dinner service, I selected the steak option, while for breakfast the next morning, my mother chose congee for a lighter meal, and I opted for the Western breakfast with omelet and sausage.

The Prestige Sleeper seats provided good comfort for the long-haul flight to Seoul, with adequate space for sleeping during the overnight journey.

Dining Service and Menu Review

Dinner Service

The evening meal began with appetizers including smoked salmon and shrimp preparations, followed by soup service. The main course steak was properly prepared and satisfying.

After the main course, flight attendants served fruit and cheese selections, concluding with ice cream dessert. Interestingly, while Korean Air serves Häagen-Dazs on Incheon departures, the Zurich flight featured Mövenpick ice cream, reflecting local Swiss partnerships.

Following a popular business class tradition, I added whiskey to the ice cream for an enhanced dessert experience.

The famous Korean Air instant noodles were available as a mid-flight snack option, which I enjoyed during the evening.

Breakfast Service

After a good night’s rest, breakfast service offered two distinct options. My mother selected the Asian-style congee for easier digestion, while I chose the Western breakfast featuring omelet and sausage with accompanying sides.

Both breakfast options were well-prepared and provided a satisfying start to arrival day in Seoul.

Overall Flight Experience

The Korean Air Prestige Sleeper experience from Zurich to Incheon was comfortable and well-executed. Business class service eliminated travel fatigue, allowing us to arrive in Seoul refreshed.

Korean Air’s consistent meal quality, attentive service, and comfortable seating made this a pleasant way to conclude our Switzerland adventure.

Final Recommendations

Korean Air’s Zurich-Seoul business class route offers good value for travelers seeking comfort on this long-haul journey. The combination of airport lounge access, priority processing, quality dining, and comfortable seating justified the business class premium.

For travelers completing European vacations with a comfortable return to Asia, Korean Air’s Prestige Sleeper provides a nice way to end your trip relaxed and satisfied.
