Traveling through Italy with my mother, we were on a mission to find the perfect Olive Oils in Milan. We wanted to discover high-quality olive oils that we could enjoy ourselves and share as gifts with friends and family. Our quest led us to a popular Italian gourmet store that every traveler raves about: Eataly.

Wandering through the Eataly store, we were overwhelmed by the sheer variety of olive oils. With so many options, choosing the right one seemed impossible. Luckily, a local staff member who previously worked at Eataly came to our rescue. They generously shared their top three olive oil recommendations, which I’m excited to share with you.

Eataly Milan

1. Primo DOP Extra Virgin Olive Oil: Fresh and Fragrant

Primo DOP Extra Virgin Olive Oil

The first recommendation was Primo DOP Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I bought a small 100ml bottle, perfect for our European trip. What stood out was the intense grassy aroma when I drizzled it over salads.

Interestingly, this grass-like fragrance is actually a hallmark of high-quality olive oil. At the Milan Eataly store, a 250ml bottle was priced at just 9.9 euros. When I returned to Korea, I was surprised to find the same bottle selling for around 25,000 won – nearly double the price!

2. Sabina DOP Extra Virgin Olive Oil: Clean and Gift-Worthy

Sabina DOP Extra Virgin Olive Oil

The second recommendation was Sabina DOP Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Packaged in a sturdy can, it was both practical and gift-friendly. Priced at 16.8 euros per liter, it was also budget-conscious.

While not as intensely grassy as the Primo DOP, it offered a clean, fresh flavor that made it perfect for everyday use and gifting.

3. Frantoio Franci Toscano PGI: A Premium Choice

Frantoio Franci Toscano PGI

The third recommendation was Frantoio Franci Toscano PGI olive oil. Although I didn’t purchase it during our trip, online research revealed it’s a premium product often sold at steep prices internationally.

Why Choose Olive Oil from Milan’s Eataly?

Our experience confirmed what many food lovers already know: Italian olive oils are not just delicious, but also incredibly affordable when purchased locally. If you’re traveling to Milan and looking for a unique, high-quality gift, these olive oils are definitely worth considering.
